Activision has announced that the next version of Guitar Hero will be coming to the Xbox 360 (and almost every other console imaginable). In this unnamed title, they release many details including some of the songs coming out, and some of the features the game will be offering including,
“Guitar Hero fans will channel their inner rock god using Gibson Guitar’s Les Paul and Kramer models as the industry standard. In addition, players will experience an incredible number of newly added features and explosive content including a new multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, grueling boss battles, a bevy of exclusive unlockable content and authentic rock venues. Expanded online multiplayer game modes will also allow axe-shredders worldwide to compete head-to-head for true legendary rock status.”
The initial list of face-melting awesomeness includes:
* Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)
* Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
* Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
* The Metal (by Tenacious D)
* My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
* Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
* Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
* School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
* Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
* Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
* Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)
“For the first time ever, Guitar Hero fans will also be able to thrash and burn with new wireless guitar controllers available for each platform. The exclusive Gibson guitars will include innovative features such as removable faceplates that will allow fans to later personalize their guitars and make it their own, and a new button color design that will be integrated for an even greater authentic feel and rock experience. Gibson Guitar’s Les Paul model will be the battle axe of choice, and an industry standard for all rock gods on the Xbox 360(TM), PLAYSTATION(R)3 system, and Wii(TM). After much anticipation, PlayStation(R)2 system fans will also be receiving a new exclusive shape as well, the classic Kramer guitar, also a Gibson brand, popularized by hard rockers and known for its body design, pickups, electronics, and construction for furious finger fretting.”

Alright, lets file this under rumors…
HarmonixFans.com has posted what they believe to be the next 3 song packs for Guitar Hero 2… and they are…
Source:
Alright, this just in! Our “informant” (Thanks Cypher from GCN
) has “informed” us that he has gotten word on these next 9 songs as the next downloadable content coming out for Guitar Hero 2 for 360. The informant is the same as last time, who correctly told us all the 9 songs, so we have a bid of confidence in him!
The list is as follows:
Content Pack 1:
“Cowboys From Hell” – Pantera
“I Love Rock & Roll” – Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
“Cochise” – Audioslave
Content Pack 2:
“Godzilla” – Blue Oyster Cult
“I Wanna Be Sedated” – The Ramones
“Sharp Dressed Man” – ZZ Top
Content Pack 3:
“Iron Man” – Black Sabbath
“Take Me Out” – Franz Ferdinand
“Smoke on the Water” – Deep Purple
Disclaimer:
Although we hope this is true, we’re sure the content packs are to jumbled around, or none might even be true (in which case that’d be sad, because all content packs are particually strong
) but keep checking back for more.
EDITORS EDIT: One key difference between these rumors and the last one was that the last ones were on PartnerNet at the time of reporting. These ones are not! When reached for comment the rumor uh…giver (?) stated that “these are courtesy of documents from Microsoft that are passed around for certification.”

A member by the name of Pookaki on the TeamXbox forums claims that he knows some of the upcoming tracks for Guitar Hero 2, and shares them with us…
He claims that they are,
Motorhead – Ace Of Spades
Ozzy Osbourne – Bark at The Moon
Pink Floyd – Hey You
Edgar Winter – Frankenstein
Queen – Killer Queen
The Donnas – Take It Off
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Higher Ground
Bad Religion – Infected
Incubus – Stellar
Small Bad – Rodgort (Trogdor backwards
)
He also claims that we may be seeing them “on the 3rd.” It looks like he meant April 3rd, and was obviously wrong. Hopefully we will be seeing them soon.
So, what songs would you be downloading, and how much would you pay per song. I have heard rumors of 80 points *or 1 dollar” per song. Would you fork over your cash for any of these songs?
[Thanks CunningLynguist and DanteSparda504]
